The first production in Russia!
“The Enamoured” is the first realization of the work of this famous Italian comedy playwright in Russia. The comedy was translated by the translator and art historian of worldwide reputation S. Bushueva specially for the Akimov theatre after the production “The Tyrants” by Tatiana Kazakova, that according to S. Bushueva is the best modern interpretation of Goldoni’s work.
This bright and extremely cheerful performance is about love to distraction and great skill of patience.
The peace in the house of the old townsman Fabricio was broken, when his niece fell love. The love grows in Eugenia’s heart like young wine, with moments of high intensity followed by times of quietness creating restlessness of herself, her lover, and all her family. However, the love unites the enamoured in passionate fits, now it throws them, blinded by jealousy, into abyss of reckless acts and groundless discords. And this foolhardiness lasts until the wedding takes place.
The amusing and light intrigue, ingenious and expert direction, sparkling humour, splendid acting, light and festive mood of the Venetian Carnival, created by the stirring tunes and multicoloured set design, all turn the performance into an unusual and memorable show.
Cast: Valeria Kiseleva, Valery Nikitenko, Boris Ulitin, Irina Tsvetkova, Yaroslav Vorontsov, Tatiana Vorotnikova, Vitaly Kuklin, Mikhail Razumovsky, Andrei Rodimov, Natalia Tkachenko, and Natalia Shostak.
